The Great Outdoors

Instead of giving each other big gifts for Christmas, we decided to go on one last adventure together in 2014. We couldn't think of a better way to end the year than with a drive along the coast of the state that we adore. On our first trip to San Francisco together in September, we flew and missed all the beauty that's in between LA and SF. While packing, we realized that going on a roadtrip means never having to pick your favorite sweater or pair of boots because you can bring them all!

j: zara jacket, ecote thermal, nordstroms scarf, topshop boots, wigwam socks, madewell lorimer leather backpack
b: forever 21 jacket, h&m t-shirt, h&m beanie, h&m scarf, naked and famous jeans, wolverine 1000 mile boots, incase backpack

The journey to Santa Cruz was just as much fun as the destination itself. The view of the coast, mountains, and forest was so breathtakingly beautiful that we didn't tire of it even after eight hours of driving. Every curve that we rounded brought about a gasp of awe and wonder. Right before reaching Santa Cruz, we visited Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park for a dose of the great outdoors. It was so peaceful to be shaded by gigantic redwood trees and hear nothing but birds chirping and the water streaming. We felt our stress melt away as we walked deeper into the woods. It was the perfect beginning to our trip.

  7. I have been wanting to go hiking through the forest for years now. Sadly living in the city and in the south, forests are not a nearby destination. Also, I think going on a trip together is much better than exchanging gifts - you will forever have those memories and photographies with you.
PS: Love your matching outfits! So cute :D
