Pricks of Brightness

One of the great (and sometimes not so great) things about LA is its vastness. Just one trip to the opposite side can make you feel like you're in a different city. One minute you're frolicking in alleyways near your apartment, and the next you're on the West side, splashing around in the ocean to escape the heat. After feeling (metaphorically and literally) landlocked for a while, it was indescribably calming to let the waves tickle our toes. Just standing there, unsure where the ocean began and the sky started, we reveled in this majestic sight until the sun set into the horizon.

  2. Absolutely love the photos. It's so cool that in LA you have the city, the beach, you're in the desert in no time and mountains are nearby too - just perfect.

  18. Such beautiful photos, Jasmine! I can't definitely relate, being from New York. We of course have the city, but then we have Long Island which is where all the beautiful beaches are, such as the Hampton's. I'm glad you were able to escape a bit and enjoy the beach, it's always so calming and peaceful by the water :)

I hope you have an amazing day, beauty!

  50. What beautiful photos and yes LA definitely is vast. I grew up on the East Coast but visited California a few summers ago and really loved the vastness and in general how diverse the terrain is while driving through the state. Hope you guys had fun and enjoyed being near the water and not land locked!

  63. When I first visited the States and came home people always asked me what I thought about it and all I could reply back was how big it is. I was always so taken aback by how much space there was. Especially NYC. It's amazing how big your country is and how populated it is too. Every corner is always different. Love it.
